My Car and the Demons that Possess Me

So, my 1993 Acura Vigor recently shit the bed. This happened like 2 days ago. I was hanging at my friend Chris's house (that I drove to), and when I woke up in the morning (all sorts of hung over) it wouldn't fucking start!! I was PIISSssseeed. SO pissed. Not only because it wouldn't start, but because it was in his neighborhood as well.

I'm not knocking on Chris's neighborhood at all, they all seem like alright people to me. I'm just saying that I personally have difficulty dealing with people staring at me during a difficult situation. To explain, everyone that lives on his street seemed to come out of their house to watch me fight with my car. It was embarrassing!!

I need to step back a bit and explain this better. I woke up at his house at 2p.m. It wouldn't start and I fought with it for about 10 minutes. Then I tried to get back inside his house, but forgot his house was locked. I was stuck outside with everyone staring at me for a while. Now we are up to speed I think.

Anyway, I called Shebus to see if she could get me a ride home at least... no. I called Computer Girl to see if she got out of work early... no. Then I called Q the Muse to see if he could bring me home... YES! Perfect. At least I can get home and get un-hungover. But then I thought, if I leave my car here, I don't think I will ever see it again. Even thought his neighborhood is alright, I felt like if I didn't get it out of there right then I wouldn't have a chance to move it later. So, I called 411 and found a tow place close to his house. As I was waiting for them to show up, which, by the way I called them at 3:30 and they said they would be there by 5:00... I sat on Chris's back porch in the hot sun calling him 50 million times trying to wake him so that he could let me in his locked house. After I found out that it was going to be impossible to wake him up, I called Shebus again to talk about whatever to pass the time. Randomly, Chris's Dad opened the door (thank god) and let me in.

I was very thankful to be in his house because it was fucking hot outside, and everyone was staring at me. At least if I was inside his house no one could see me and I wasn't melting my skin off. As soon as I got into his house I realized why he didn't wake up from me blowing up his phone. The TV was playing hardcore death metal the WHOLE time! He didn't even hear his phone, added to how he sleeps like a rock. Either way, bad combo.

So, I sat in his living room with a glass of water (I was extremely dehydrated) and stared at my car waiting for the tow truck to show up as I talked to my sister, Shebus, on the phone. Thankfully Shebus was there to talk to me so I wasn't completely bored out of my mind.

Finally around 5:15 the tow truck driver called me and asked if it was an emergency situation or if he could wait for traffic to die down. I had to be at my little sisters play at 6:30 so yes, it was an emergency. He didn't seem to excited about my answer, but he said alright and that he would be there in about 10 minutes.

I saw him pull up and I went outside, this time thinking ahead and not locking the door to Chris's house. Ya know, just in case. As I walked out to meet the tow truck guy, I noticed that there were about twice as many people out and about now and of course there had to be a million cars that needed to drive on Chris's small as fuck as road. I told the tow guy what was up with the car and that it had to go to Middletown and he was all about it. I was thinking in my head "how the fuck is this guy going to pick up my car with his flatbed in this traffic?" Somehow he found a way to get it out pretty quickly, and I give him mad props for that. After he got the car up on the flatbed, I locked my door and we headed out for Middletown.

The drive itself was alright, it was just kind of awkward. He was a really nice dude but we just had nothing to say to each other and if you've ever gone from Meriden to Middletown it's not a small drive. Every once in a while we would mutter a small something to each other, but it was basically silence.

We got to my house about 40 minutes later (I also had to stop and get money from the ATM because they only take cash). He dropped it and I gave him $140 for the whole ordeal. Which, isn't a bad price for how far we had to go, so that was good.

To make a long story short (most of you probably aren't even reading this anymore by this point), I tested out a couple of things on the car and it would appear that it's either the something wrong with the fuel system or the timing belt. Both of which I don't want to handle. I was thinking of calling some mechanics today, but I would almost rather just get a new car.

I don't know, this whole situation just sucks and now I feel helpless. This was the worst time for it to possibly fuck up. Thanks car.
