W. The Movie

Me, Q The Muse, Amy, and Greg went to see W. the other day. For all of you that have seen the previews and think it is going to be awesome, it is NOT. This movie was the biggest piece of crap in the world of movies. Some of you might be thinking "Naw son, that shit looks funny as hell!". Trust me, there is no reason to see this movie.

First of all, I wanted to see it because I thought it was going to be more about George W. Bush's younger days, how he became president, and all the things that happened in between. There was only a third of the movie that really covered that. The rest was just about his presidency and why he made some of the decisions he made.

Second of all, I think this movie was only made so that people who hate Bush can all sit together and mock him. I think it was also made so that everyone else can now feel like they know something about politics, and feel smarter for it. As if anyone of us could ever run this country to begin with... idiots. Another reason why people would probably want to see this movie from the previews, is that they think the way he talks is hilarious. I completely agree, but, that is no reason to see a movie. If that's all you want to see, go buy Little Bush the DVD and be happy. Either way, there was only a couple instances in this movie where they played up the "Bush Lingo".

I also have a little theory about the movie even being made. I think the Bush family funded the whole damn thing. I know it sounds kind of out there, but I have pretty much convinced myself that it's true. What better way to make money than feed on everyone's hate? Especially if everyone is filled with the same hate?

No matter what, if you want to see this movie, you're better off just watching the news. For the most part, it was just a bunch of people talking to each other. I wanted to walk out and wait for my friends in the parking lot until it ended. I feel sick just thinking about the whole thing.

Max Payne the Movie

I have been seeing a lot of previews for the new movie Max Payne. I am not usually one to watch movies that are based on video games, except for Silent Hill because I am all about the creepy stuff. But, Max Payne looks like it would have been an awesome movie if they had picked different actors.

I am a huge fan of Mark Wahlberg but he just doesn't seem to fit the lead role of this movie. He is always better at being the "real" person that has a few slight mental issues, or just sees things in a different way. There was a movie that I saw him in recently where he was a firefighter, that I can't remember the name of right now, where he was prefectly cast. I want to see more of that!

Another wrongfully casted person is Mila Kunis from That 70's Show. I could never think of her in a serious role. In my eyes, she is kind of stuck in the role of the ditsy brunette that is completely self centered. If I see this movie, and it changes my whole view on her, I don't know what I would do. It's weird, I know.

As far as the movie in general looks, I am kind of psyched to see it. From what I have seen, it would appear that the cinematography is excellent and the story is going to be dark as hell. I am looking forward to it!

The Google Game Round 1

I got curious on what Google knows about my life. Shebus had actually reminded me about this game a couple weeks ago with a journal she had written, to be completely honest. Anyway, I started image Googling about people in my family.

I started with myself obviously, but apparently the only Jon Jansma out there is a heavy metal rocker. He looks a little like me, weirdly, and I guess he plays the lead guitar, sings, and does vox (whatever that is). So, that was disappointing...

After that I Googled Sheriden. MY fucking face comes up more than hers! Haha, I don't really get that, but whatever. Basically stuff I have seen before, and nothing interesting there.

THEN, I decided to Google my older brother, Ian Jansma. Not too many people know about him, but, now you do! Anyway, it turns out that his name is pretty much all over the web! Get this though, his picture never comes up, only the pictures he's taken. Ya see, during the summer, he works in Alaska as a tour guide. So, all the people he takes pictures for give him credit for just being there to take the picture.

This is crazy to me. How the fuck do all these people remember his name?! I guess it probably has something to do with the emotions that fly around during your very special vacation to the place you've always wanted to go, or something like that.

Well, then I tell ya what people. We are selling intimate vacations to Cut Me Deep Headquarters!! For $10,000 you can stay in my room with me, for 3 whole days! If you play your cards right, you may never leave. Your vacation package includes no underwear, excessive chaffing, and numerous sores on your genitals and mouth regions. Surprise your grandmother with TWO tickets, straight to the brain, wrapped in lead. Let the fun begin!!

LoveSac Alternative Furniture Co.

Some of you might know this already, but as of last Friday I am no longer a web designer for LoveSac Alternative Furniture Company. Some changes were taking place and the need for my services were voided. It was a fun ride while it lasted, though! I hold absolutely no anger for their decision. When it comes right down to it, business is business, and I respect that completely.

When you sum up the job to a whole, it was basically Shawn Nelson (the owner) giving me a chance to learn as much as I could about the field I was in. I absolutely believe he saw the talent in me, but also knew I could grow much further outside the bounds I had developed myself. For that, I can't thank him enough. When you really think about it, there is really no one out there that will give you a chance to expand your talents while getting paid for it. I'm just glad I didn't let him down. At least to my knowledge anyway. But, who really knows, maybe I was just canned cause I suck.

LoveSac was my first "corporate" job. I wasn't sure exactly how things worked in the higher up world until I started working there. But, rest assured, it's pretty much just like every TV show you can imagine. It's no really even that bad to tell you the truth. The only thing that really brings it down is having to deal with soap opera shit. For instance, if you look at someone wrong, they will tell a higher up, saying that they feel morally defied, and uncomfortable with the way your soul rests within their personal space. Luckily, I didn't have many of these moments, only a couple. There were a couple of people there that understood, in basics, what I was about, and what I usually meant by anything I ever said.

For instance, Mike (the Director of eCommerce) took a lot of shit from me during my employment at LoveSac, haha. But, he understands that I'm just fucking crazy, and usually it's not really me that's talking. Realistically, he probably deserves a medal for having to deal with me. But, he would probably rather just forget about it...

Gabby had to take some of my shit as well. But, that was in the earlier days of working there. Not even completely sure why I would give her a slightly hard time, but, it was actually her that taught me about self control, forgiveness, and calming down without hurting anyone. She would probably have no idea why, but all I can say is that I watch how everyone acts, reacts, and adjusts to certain situations, and it speaks worlds of a person.

Either way, the point is that I've learned a lot from working there. Not only within the bounds of web design, but also a bit on how people's brains work. I suppose this can only help me to grow as a person. But, I have also realized how depressing it is to watch children play in their front yard together with a single toy, eagerly waiting for their turn. If they only knew how unimportant that toy was going to be when they grew up...
