W. The Movie

Me, Q The Muse, Amy, and Greg went to see W. the other day. For all of you that have seen the previews and think it is going to be awesome, it is NOT. This movie was the biggest piece of crap in the world of movies. Some of you might be thinking "Naw son, that shit looks funny as hell!". Trust me, there is no reason to see this movie.
First of all, I wanted to see it because I thought it was going to be more about George W. Bush's younger days, how he became president, and all the things that happened in between. There was only a third of the movie that really covered that. The rest was just about his presidency and why he made some of the decisions he made.
Second of all, I think this movie was only made so that people who hate Bush can all sit together and mock him. I think it was also made so that everyone else can now feel like they know something about politics, and feel smarter for it. As if anyone of us could ever run this country to begin with... idiots. Another reason why people would probably want to see this movie from the previews, is that they think the way he talks is hilarious. I completely agree, but, that is no reason to see a movie. If that's all you want to see, go buy Little Bush the DVD and be happy. Either way, there was only a couple instances in this movie where they played up the "Bush Lingo".
I also have a little theory about the movie even being made. I think the Bush family funded the whole damn thing. I know it sounds kind of out there, but I have pretty much convinced myself that it's true. What better way to make money than feed on everyone's hate? Especially if everyone is filled with the same hate?
No matter what, if you want to see this movie, you're better off just watching the news. For the most part, it was just a bunch of people talking to each other. I wanted to walk out and wait for my friends in the parking lot until it ended. I feel sick just thinking about the whole thing.

I feel cheated. I don't think the movie hit the truth hard enough. Dubbia was painted with childish innocence and the idea that we should have patience for him being a product of his own society that just wants to impress his "poppy".
I agree, Oliver Stone couldn't seem to figure out whether this was going to be a hard hitting documentary along the lines of "All the Presidents Men" or an homage to a tragic figure a la Macbeth or Hamlet. In the end it felt as if he was pandering to both Bush Lover's and Bush Hater's and satisfying neither group. (are there any Bush neutrals? I doubt it) He also dropped the ball on key issues. Well I could go on and on but nuff said. I think Oliver Stone saw a chance to make money and took it. Thought he was better than that but I guess I was wrong.
